Our Team

We see people, heritage and history in everything we do, and we’re truly passionate about creating places that add value to local communities.

To achieve this, we need bold and engaging colleagues. We’re proud to work with professionals with a range of experiences and opinions, who aren’t afraid to ask questions, ensuring Genr8 is always striving for the best. We value integrity and honest communication. When we say we’re going to do something, we do it.

  • Leonie headshot colour
    LEONIE EDWARDS Finance Director

Within Leonie's first month at Genr8, she'd been roped into doing Tough Mudder to fundraise for St Ann's Hospice - which she dived into with commitment and enthusiasm!

She has the same approach leading our business financial strategy, using her 20 years' experience across listed companies and SMEs to drive improved commercial visibility and ensure Genr8 is always operating at its most effective.

When she's not keeping the books in check, Leonie is usually on the water paddleboarding, on the court playing tennis (to keep up with her 10 year old!), or on the pitch watching her kids play rugby.

  • Ollie headshot colour
    OLLIE SIDAWAY Placement Student

Ollie joined us on a part-time basis in December 2021, whilst studying Real Estate Development and Management at Salford University. From September 2023, he is continuing with us full-time for his placement year.

Getting stuck in with the project and development teams, he does everything from joining site visits, recording progress, collating documents... and getting in a good office brew round.

When not working (or studying!), Ollie loves to travel, exploring new cultures and cuisines, offering attempting to copy recipes when back home - to various degrees of success! To contrast the eating, he recently started running and has his first half marathon in October 2023.

  • Mike headshot
    MIKE SMITH Partner

One of Genr8’s founding partners, Mike has been instrumental in the growth of the business over the last decade, securing significant opportunities and playing a leading role in guiding these projects through the delivery process to completion.

He has been at the forefront of numerous public/private regeneration partnerships amongst them Stoke-on-Trent, Wakefield, Doncaster and Rochdale.

Mike is one of the directors of Genr8 Kajima Regeneration Limited, a joint venture formed in 2021 following the partnership's success with Rochdale Riverside.

  • RACHAEL BARLOW
RACHAEL BARLOW PA / Office Manager

Everyone knows it’s the Office Manager who really runs the show - and Rachael is the glue that holds us together!

Having been Genr8's Office Manager and PA to the Partners since 2014, she's seen the business grow significantly but has remained our constant, ensuring no meeting or train is missed, the partners are organised, and the office is kept stocked with treats.

Previously a Special Constable of 10 years, her approach to our team is definitely effective!

Outside the office, Rachael loves spending time with her family, learning to play golf, and occasionally having a bit of a dance (carefully... in trainers...).

  • Alan Hall
    ALAN HALL Director of Projects

Regeneration of unloved areas and seeing them brought back to life for the community is a personal area of interest for Alan, with a clear passion for good design and pushing this as far as budgets will allow. His drive and commitment inspires those who work with him to always strive for better.

With a love of underground electronic music, outside of work you will usually find Alan DJ'ng to his son Louis in his music studio, or at any gig that Jeff Mills is playing at within a reasonable distance of Europe. Taking his road bike up some of ridiculous hills in, running and swimming are his other main (healthier) hobbies.

  • Stuart Dick
    Stuart Dick Consultant

Having worked in Project Management Consultancy for over 25 years with both Capita and Arcadis, Stuart joined Genr8 in 2016 as Development Director. The transition “client side” was seamless as Stuart had project managed several of Genr8s developments over the previous years.

Whilst Stuart’s input is now mostly at a strategic level on large scale developments, he likes nothing more than returning to his project management roots and personally delivering on key projects.

  • John headshot colour
    JOHN EARLY Partner

John has had a long and successful career in development and urban regeneration, and is one of the pioneers in the creation of long term partnerships with the public sector.

Founding Genr8 Developments in 2007 alongside Richard and Mike, John was previously Executive Chairman of AMEC Developments, which established itself as a national leader in the regeneration field under his leadership.

Having stepped into a non-executive role at Genr8, John remains passionate about and committed to our continued success.

  • Matt headshot colour
    MATT BRENNAN Senior Project Manager

Aside from loving his beloved Arsenal and playing footy on the weekends, Matt enjoys the outdoor adventures and is also a keen outdoor swimmer, taking part in Triathlons. He also loves to travel but only to hot places where he can get a great tan!

Matt joined Genr8 in 2019 and has led on multiple projects including the delivery of the MSCP and Hilton at Smithfield, Telford's Station Quarter Hotel and Build-to-Rent Apartment developments & Rochdale's Upperbanks masterplan. Matt channels his positivity directly into his working approach and is a founding member of ‘The Future Network’ group.

  • Kev headshot colour
KEV LE VOI Senior Projects Manager

A long suffering Tranmere Rovers fan, Kev is also a music and outdoors fanatic, usually throwing himself down mountains on a downhill bike or snowboard and loves spinning the wheels of steel and playing/attempting the guitar.

Kev joined in 2020 and led pre-construction design stages for our Rochdale Upperbanks scheme and is currently our construction lead for the Health Innovation Neighbourhood (HIN) - a partnership with Newcastle University. Kev is also excited to be PM on St Ann’s Hospices’ groundbreaking new hospice in Heald Green.

  • Warwick headshot colour
    WARWICK SMITHER Consultant

Warwick's reputation in the property industry typically precedes him into any room - and appropriately so. With over 35 years' experience, of which 20 were as a partner at Cheetham & Mortimer, he joined Genr8 in 2021 as Development Director to grow the business and identify new opportunities across the UK. Warwick continues his work for Genr8 on a consultancy basis, particularly in relation to GKRL projects.

Not satisfied with everyone knowing him in property, he's also a staple in the world of hockey. After many years playing, he now manages a National League team, giving him plenty of practice in motivational speeches!

  • Richard Ingham
    RICHARD INGHAM Partner

A founding partner of Genr8 Richard has played a key role in the establishment and development of the business. Richard has led the successful delivery of Genr8’s projects at Halifax and Stoke-on-Trent delivering in excess of 650,000 of mixed-use development across Grade A office, Industrial, hotel, Build-to-Rent and family housing.

Prior to setting Genr8 up Richard was a director at AMEC Developments where he was responsible for the delivery of a number of high-profile development projects including the inception and establishment of the now hugely successful Salford Central New Bailey scheme. Richard also played a leading role in the regeneration of New East Manchester.

  • Tiffany Chevis
    TIFFANY CHEVIS Head of Marketing

A converted Southerner, Tiffany spends as much time as possible outside, swimming, running, cycling, and hiking, and generally being away from the city. She recently started scuba diving too, finding any excuse to get back in the water.

With a background in the arts and a Chartered Marketer, Tiffany was brought into the Genr8 family in 2022, utilising her passion for authentic storytelling to grow and develop Genr8's legacy.

From strategic planning and project management, to event planning and social content creation, she covers it all.

Employee Ownership Trust

In November 2022, Genr8’s founding partners, John Early, Mike Smith, and Richard Ingham made the decision to transfer the ownership of the company to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), in order to secure the independence of the business and create a succession plan that would enable our loyal staff to be rewarded and to share in the company’s future successes.

Whilst there is no change to the Board of Directors who continue to administer the running of the business, ownership is held by the Genr8 Employee Ownership Trust on behalf of our employees.

We believe this heralds the start of a new and dynamic chapter in Genr8’s future. There is compelling research which shows that a combination of shared ownership and employee participation creates a business that is more engaged, innovative, productive, and sustainable.
