Manchester-based regeneration specialist, Genr8 Developments, has promoted three employees in-line with preparations for an ambitious year of growth in 2024.

Established in 2008 with the goal to bring transformational, mixed-use regeneration to UK towns and cities, the business has evolved steadily from an initial team of three into a major player in the regeneration sector, having delivered £200m of mixed-use development in recent years, principally in partnership with the public sector.  With projects in the North West, North East, Midlands, and South of England, Genr8 continues to strengthen its position in the market through its joint venture partnership, Genr8 Kajima Regeneration Ltd.

Having played a pivotal role in the growth of the business in recent years, Alan Hall has been promoted to Director of Projects. Alan has led on the delivery of Genr8’s £200m Smithfield Stoke-on-Trent scheme, a 1million+ sq ft mixed-use development, where Genr8 has already delivered offices, Build to Rent (BTR) living, a Hilton Garden Inn, 730-space MSCP, and managed workspace.

Alan also has responsibility for the £130m Huyton town centre regeneration project, secured through Genr8 Kajima Regeneration Ltd. He will continue to ensure effective project delivery, as well as develop and mentor the team, helping the partners to shape and implement future business strategy.

Leonie Edwards has been promoted to the position of Finance Director after three years with the business. In addition to facilitating Genr8’s corporate financial management, Leonie leads on investment appraisals across development projects, ensuring effective working capital management.

Leonie’s breadth of commercial experience in other industries has been used to transform Genr8’s ability to make decisions through improved financial visibility and modelling, and will enable the business to continue on its journey to deliver its strategic growth plans.

Matt Brennan has assumed the position of Senior Project Manager, having joined Genr8 in July 2019 in his first client-side role. With experience managing key stakeholders and changing delivery requirements, Matt successfully delivered Genr8’s £15m Smithfield MSCP, as well as working on the £65m BTR and Hilton hotel scheme at Rochdale Upperbanks from inception through to completion.

Matt is also currently delivering a project and development management role on the Station Quarter Telford project, which includes a £40m hotel and BTR phase. Matt continues to lead the Future Network MCR group, engaging with young professionals across the construction industry in Manchester, and recently became a full Member of the Associate for Project Managers, as further proof of his dedication.

Speaking of the appointments, Richard Ingham, one of the founding partners of Genr8, said: “Alan, Leonie, and Matt have all played a huge role in the success of Genr8 in recent years and individually have grown in their respective roles since joining us.

“We have always believed that we can only deliver the truly transformational projects we are involved with if we have the right people within the business, and this is absolutely the case for this trio of passionate individuals.”
