In a joint venture between GKRL and Newcastle University, the Health Innovation Neighbourhood strives to be a world-class example of multi-generational living and healthy ageing research.

This 29 acre site of the former General Hospital will incorporate existing university and NHS buildings into a new and exemplar community.

With a focus on health, wealth, and wellbeing, rooted in research and innovation, the project will combine multi-generational living with a ‘living lab’ concept, enabling researchers to access real-life data of the latest innovations in digital homes.
