The special relationship between Genr8 Developments and Kajima was founded in Rochdale. Over a period of 10 years the Partnership formed between the two businesses wrestled with the delivery of this transformational 200,000 sq ft retail and leisure scheme which has successfully repositioned the town in the regional hierarchy.
Various hurdles were overcome with a combination of determination, innovation, and a degree of good humour. Despite the town centre flooding on Boxing Day 2015 and M&S, the anchor tenant, attempting to renege on the Agreement to Lease they had agreed, the scheme was delivered to huge industry and public acclaim, winning Commercial Development of the Year.
