To support the development of the Copley Valley site, a new 1.5km link road and offsite junction were created to link Hollas Lane with Holmes Road. The infrastructure works received a Certificate of Commendation for Excellence in Civil Engineering Works at the Annual Institute of Civil Engineers Awards in 2016.

Significant flood infrastructure was also delivered, in the form of a flood lagoon and storage area.

Complex site remediation works involved innovative on site treatment of contaminated material.

Following the creation of the Copley Valley Green Corridor and Nature Reserve, the area now boasts a host of wildlife including king fishers and otters, as well as dozens of insect species.

Long-term improvements continue to be undertaken, from toad fences to otter tunnels, to ensure the lasting protection of biodiversity.
